Mortality Rates Have Changed:
Term Life Insurance Is Now Cheaper Than Ever Before
By Raymond L. Adams, CFP®, CLU, ChFC
Who is buying life insurance? We usually only think of young families, especially with children. But, today, with or without children, many households having dual incomes, are purchasing life insurance: both men and women, to protect themselves financially by making sure their spouse, or partner, has life insurance.
Another, in the past unexpected group, is that of parents buying life insurance on their adult children, often to cover a debt that they have cosigned; and other times on their married children and/or the spouse of their offspring, to minimize the possibility of increased financial exposure in helping their adult child, often with children, in the event of the death of the adult child’s spouse.
LIFE INSURANCE RATES ARE AT ALL-TIME LOWS
This means, that almost without exception, most people between the ages of 25-65 can provide their loved ones the benefit of financial security through life insurance at a lower cost than ever before.
IF YOU DO HAVE LIFE INSURANCE, you might find that you can get the same coverage you currently have for less, or more coverage for the same cost.
Also, because term insurance rates always go up dramatically at the end of their “period of time”, if your health changes between now and then you may find it economically prohibitive to maintain what you have—another reason to consider price-comparison at this time, and an upgrade.
IF YOU DON’T HAVE LIFE INSURANCE, now may be the best time to take advantage of current favorable pricing—
WHETHER YOU DO, OR DON’T
So, if you do have life insurance, now is the time to compare. And, if you do not have life insurance, this may be the right time to consider buying it. It is so simple and straightforward to do.
